Commercial Electrician – EV & ICP
Location: Milton Keynes / Northamptonshire
My client is a fast-growing specialist in connecting businesses to the electricity grid at scale. We are buzzing with opportunity and very much part of the shift to net zero.
 
We are looking for a team player with the relevant industry experience, and someone who is eventually looking to progress into a leadership role. This role will involve UK travel to the sites on which we work, with overnight stays where sites are outside of a reasonable travelling distance.
 
The candidate will be required to ensure that all electricity networks are installed in a safe and professional manner and to a high standard and in accordance with Management Systems and electrical technical guidelines. They will work safely at all times and ensure safety of all those working around them.
 
Key responsibilities:

To deliver work packages to a high standard (BS7671)
Review and understand fully the requirements of all work instructions
Provide technical advice on all cable installation, and design works
Complete electrical site surveys on existing supplies & new EV charger locations
Carry out risk assessments of the workplace
Complete LV cable terminations from 240mm – 1000mm
Working with large LV supplies within LV switch rooms and substations

Skills and Qualifications:

Full clean driving license
18th edition C&G L3 2019, test and inspection preferable but not essential
Risk assessment training
Level 2 or Level 3 C&G Electrical Installation
Ability to read schematic drawing and understand content
Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team or individually
Organisational and planning skills essential

 
Knowledge/Experience:

Strong knowledge of the Electricity Supply, Quality & Continuity Regulations
Strong knowledge of the Electricity at Work Regulations
Experience in cable tray, trunking, SWA and CAT5e cables as a minimum
Experience in working with LV AC and DC supplies
